Brooklyn Popcorn Review + $20 Gift Code Giveaway

Brooklyn Popcorn Review + $20 Brooklyn Popcorn Giveaway!

June 8, 2014 45 comments Article

Disclosure: I received a tin of Brooklyn Popcorn for the purpose of this review.

I’m a popcorn fan, and there’s nothing more tempting than a big bowl full of it. I’ve been guilty of passing by the popcorn bowl at parties more than a few times. That was why I was excited to try Brooklyn Popcorn.

Brooklyn Popcorn started as a food truck, offering 16 delicious flavors to the street-goers of New York. Now Brooklyn Popcorn ships their freshly-made popcorn all over the world in tins and bags to popcorn lovers like me. They make their popcorn daily in small batches using fresh ingredients. Flavors range from traditional to gourmet.

Brooklyn Popcorn Caramel

My can of Brooklyn Popcorn lasted a few weeks, and it was as fresh and crispy on the last day as it was on the first. Stale popcorn isn’t any fun! My whole family enjoyed our tin of caramel popcorn, one of their most popular flavors. I’m more of a savory popcorn lover, so the caramel was a little on the sweet side, but mix in some salty peanuts and I’m a happy girl!

If you live in the New York area, you can even hire the Brooklyn Popcorn truck to show up at your next birthday party or event. How great would that be for a kiddy birthday party?

Huggies Little Movers for the ACTIVE Toddler | Review #MovingMoments #MC

May 25, 2014 15 comments Article

I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central for Huggies. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Little Grayson is really moving now that he’s eighteen months. How did he grow to be a toddler so fast? One minute I had a plump, adorable baby and now he’s almost a little kid. Watching him run around and learn new things everyday reminds me to stop and enjoy each moment—and take lots of pictures!

Lately, it’s not uncommon for me to turn around and find him wedged behind a chair, wiggling behind my closet doors or scaling a chair to get up on the table. It astounds me how much toddlers MOVE! They don’t stop and have an amazing ability to seek out every corner. Mom (that’s me) has to really stay on her toes.

Baby on the kitchen table | Huggies Diaper Review

I’ve tried a few diaper brands in the past and went through quite a few mishaps. The last thing I want to worry about when I’m working full-time, keeping up a household, writing a blog, exercising daily AND being a hands-on-100%-there mommy is diapers!

I was excited to try out Huggies Little Movers, having never tried them before.  I see them as one more little step to my baby boy growing up. I picked them up at my local Midtown Miami Target and found them easily in the store. We were able to get a $10 gift card with purchase too!

How are Huggies Little Movers Different?

I like how Huggies Little Movers have new Double Grip Strips, which flex and bend as your little one moves. The comfy gathered waistband is perfect for active babies just like Grayson. He was a fan of the fun Disney character prints.

I also noticed how lightweight and soft Huggies Little Movers feel—and how they are much less bulky than the other brand we used. I’m no longer concerned about chafing against his little thighs and waist as he moves around.

This Memorial Day weekend, we did a lot of fun activities while Grayson wore his Huggies Little Movers. We explored in the backyard, went for our very first bike ride and even had a picnic at the playground! I took lots of pictures, of course, because every moment is moving too fast when you’re a mom.

Amber For Babies Teething Necklace Review + Giveaway!

Amber For Babies Teething Necklace Review + Giveaway!

April 15, 2014 39 comments Article

This post and giveaway is sponsored by Amber for Babies.

Teething can be a painful for experience for babies; often resulting in tears and sleepless nights for everyone. My son Grayson(who I’m very fond of making baby food recipes for)  is 16 months old–a prime age for teething. Teething starts around 6 months of age. By the time a child is 3 years old, they will have all 20 teeth. Even though my son has had only mild teething issues, as a concerned parent, I would do anything to keep him from experiencing the pain and discomfort of teething.

There are a lot of teething remedies out there, ranging from over-the counter drugs and drops to numbing creams and home remedies. Sometimes these work; many times they don’t. Searching for teething remedies online, I came across Baltic amber teething necklaces, bracelets and anklets from Amber for Babies.

How does a Baltic amber teething necklace work for pain?

Baltic amber is fossilized tree resin originating from pine trees over 45 million years ago. Baltic amber contains 3-8% succinic acid, which is said to be an analgesic (pain relieving) substance. The necklace isn’t meant to be chewed on.  Instead, the natural warmth from baby’s skin heats the beads, and the pain relieving qualities are absorbed into the skin.

After reading the glowing reviews online, I gave a teething necklace from Amber for Babies a shot. For the last month, my little one has been sporting a very cute bohemian-esque honey raw bead amber teething necklace while cutting two new teeth.

During that time, we experienced only a few nights when he was awakened at night due to teething pain. One of those nights, I gave him acetaminophen for the pain. The rest of the time, he’s been his usual fuss-free self.  Maybe if my son was usually fussy when teething I would have noticed a difference. In any case, I love how cute the necklace looks on him. This may be a great product to try for babies who go through extreme pain, drooling or chewing during teething. According to the many reviews I read, the all-natural beads seem to be very effective in calming babies.

The necklace we reviewed is very well made, with each bead tied in place so they don’t move around. It’s lightweight and my son–who won’t even wear a hat–doesn’t mind wearing it at all. The screw clasp is also amber, and looks just like one of the beads.

Amber for Babies offers many styles, colors and shapes of teething jewelry. You can purchase necklaces and bracelets with raw (not shiny), baroque (shiny), olive-shaped or chip beads. Colors include honey, lemon, cherry, milky and multicolored amber.

If you would like to purchase an amber teething necklace, anklet or bracelet, visit www.amberforbabies.com. They have a wide selection of affordably-priced Baltic amber teething jewelry. During the month of April, they are having a site-wide 30% off sale. Here is just a small sampling of the colors and styles from their website:
