Amber For Babies Teething Necklace Review + Giveaway!
This post and giveaway is sponsored by Amber for Babies.
Teething can be a painful for experience for babies; often resulting in tears and sleepless nights for everyone. My son Grayson(who I’m very fond of making baby food recipes for) is 16 months old–a prime age for teething. Teething starts around 6 months of age. By the time a child is 3 years old, they will have all 20 teeth. Even though my son has had only mild teething issues, as a concerned parent, I would do anything to keep him from experiencing the pain and discomfort of teething.
There are a lot of teething remedies out there, ranging from over-the counter drugs and drops to numbing creams and home remedies. Sometimes these work; many times they don’t. Searching for teething remedies online, I came across Baltic amber teething necklaces, bracelets and anklets from Amber for Babies.
How does a Baltic amber teething necklace work for pain?
Baltic amber is fossilized tree resin originating from pine trees over 45 million years ago. Baltic amber contains 3-8% succinic acid, which is said to be an analgesic (pain relieving) substance. The necklace isn’t meant to be chewed on. Instead, the natural warmth from baby’s skin heats the beads, and the pain relieving qualities are absorbed into the skin.
After reading the glowing reviews online, I gave a teething necklace from Amber for Babies a shot. For the last month, my little one has been sporting a very cute bohemian-esque honey raw bead amber teething necklace while cutting two new teeth.
During that time, we experienced only a few nights when he was awakened at night due to teething pain. One of those nights, I gave him acetaminophen for the pain. The rest of the time, he’s been his usual fuss-free self. Maybe if my son was usually fussy when teething I would have noticed a difference. In any case, I love how cute the necklace looks on him. This may be a great product to try for babies who go through extreme pain, drooling or chewing during teething. According to the many reviews I read, the all-natural beads seem to be very effective in calming babies.
The necklace we reviewed is very well made, with each bead tied in place so they don’t move around. It’s lightweight and my son–who won’t even wear a hat–doesn’t mind wearing it at all. The screw clasp is also amber, and looks just like one of the beads.
Amber for Babies offers many styles, colors and shapes of teething jewelry. You can purchase necklaces and bracelets with raw (not shiny), baroque (shiny), olive-shaped or chip beads. Colors include honey, lemon, cherry, milky and multicolored amber.

I’ve wanted to try amber necklaces with my son but I never did. Maybe with our next one I will. I’ve always wondered if they really work. I guess even if they don’t, they are still pretty.
they are so cute and fashionable BUT most important they are safe for baby and actually do help with teething

I honestly am not quite sure I am comfortable with my baby wearing a necklace. I am a bit paranoid I think and would worry about it being a strangulation hazard.
